Overview

Stack Image Viewer is a free image stack viewer developed by Indigo Scientific for browsing TIFF/TIF stacks and large serial image datasets on Windows.

Rather than loading an entire multi-gigabyte or terabyte dataset into RAM, images are loaded individually as you move through the stack. This makes it practical to rapidly browse large microscopy datasets using a simple image index slider.

The viewer was originally developed for successive microscopy techniques such as High Resolution Episcopic Microscopy (HREM) and block-face imaging, where hundreds or thousands of sequential sections need to be inspected quickly. It can also be used with serial datasets generated using light-sheet microscopy, micro-CT and other 3D imaging techniques.

Create posters

Take large datasets and present them in one large image, for a quick snapshot into a dataset. Each image is placed evenly throughout a canvas and the slices can be viewed whole, without having to load a whole dataset.

Video implementation

Create videos of fly throughs of 2D stacks easily, as well as produce orthogonal views that can be also placed into video. Export all 3 dimensions as well as video for later viewing with just one button.

Measurements

Store measurement calibrations and draw on the image to produce real world data, with angles, lines, areas and counters. Save the measurements or export them only, or export them with the image. Ideal for simplistic measurements without complex software.

Features

The stack viewer comes with features to present and view 2D files with ease in succession from creating MP4 movies to annotation without complex loading.
