Extend the capability of your existing setup
You do not always need a new microscope. A well-chosen upgrade can significantly extend the capability of an existing system, adding fluorescence imaging to a bright-field scope, upgrading from a basic camera to a scientific-grade detector, or adding environmental control for live cell work. We offer a range of upgrades and enhancements for existing microscope setups across the UK.
We supply upgrade components from Zeiss, Jenoptik, CoolLED and OKOLAB, covering LED illumination modules, scientific cameras, environmental control systems, objectives, contrast method modules (phase rings, fluorescence filters), XY stages and more. Most components can be fitted to a wide range of microscope makes and models using optical adapters.

LED ILLUMINATION UPGRADE
Upgrade to LED illumination
Upgrade an existing illumination setup with an LED module which are ideal for fluorescence and brightfield microscopy on any microscope. LED illumination offers significant advantages over mercury arc lamps and older halogen systems including cooler operation, much longer lifetime, instant on/off switching, precise intensity control and a wide range of selectable wavelength options.

Add or upgrade an existing microscope camera from our trusted brands Zeiss, Jenoptik and Tucsen for routine microscopy through to fluorescence low-light capture. A camera upgrade is often the single most impactful improvement you can make to an existing microscope producing better sensitivity, higher resolution, faster frame rates and software-controlled acquisition replace eyepiece observation with a fully documented, reproducible digital workflow.

Microscope environmental control
Add environmental control to an existing microscope for stable live cell imaging. OKOLAB systems provide precise temperature, CO₂ and humidity regulation at the sample which is essential for maintaining cell viability during long-term time-lapse experiments and multi-hour imaging sessions.
